Giving

Giving

In the Bible, giving of our time, energy, finances, and other resources is described as a part of our worship (2 Corinthians 8-9). We do not give out of compulsion or obligation, but as a way of showing our love for God, and out of a desire to participate in his mission. No-one is ever expected to give in order to join us, but all are welcome to “give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion” (2 Corinthians 9:7).

Giving Financially

Hudson’s Hope Chapel is a fundamental part of the vocational ministry of our Elder/Chaplain Luke Hughes-Bunger.

Luke’s ministry is not funded directly by Hudson’s Hope Chapel, and he instead serves our district as a Community Chaplain serving with Fellowship Chaplaincy. Luke is a Fellowship employee chaplain. Luke raises support through donation and sponsorship, and expenses for his ministry — including the Chapel — are managed through this. If you would like to give to us, we therefore request you do so through Fellowship Chaplaincy

Give Cash

Cash donations can be shared during any gathering.

Please note, while we record all donations,, we are unable to link individual cash donations to you for tax purposes via The Fellowship. You will not usually receive a tax receipt for cash donations. Please speak to us directly if you want to give cash, but also need a tax receipt.

Why give through Fellowship Chaplaincy?

By giving through Fellowship Chaplaincy, there are benefits for you, and for our ministry.

When you give through Fellowship Chaplaincy, your donations are fully tax deductible, and you will receive a tax donation receipt directly from The Fellowship each year. You also have the peace of mind knowing that your donation is managed transparently, and with accountability, by a national ministry, who are Accredited Members of the Canadian Centre for Christian Charities. As a CCCC Accredited Member, The Fellowship operate according to the most stringent Standards of Accountability.

The Fellowship handle compliance, accounting, charities reporting, tax, deductions and benefits, and much more besides — including ensuring our Chaplain remains licensed and credentialed. They provide much needed ministry support and administration in a way that is infinitely more cost effective for our small ministry than would otherwise be possible.

And as we are led by an employee chaplain, donations cover both ministry expenses, and also ensure Luke and his family can continue to serve our Chapel, and the wider community, without needing to be supported directly by Hudson’s Hope Chapel.

Giving Practically

Generosity goes far beyond giving financially, and giving time, effort, energy, and other resources is every bit as valuable, if not moreso, than financial donations.

Can you can commit to praying for our ministry? Can you lead worship? Do you have a heart for children or youth? Do you see an underserved people group you can help us reach? Can you prepare a meal from time to time? Can you help shovel snow, or deliver firewood to those in need? Could you host a bible study or seekers course? Do you have tools and resources you could donate to help us fulfil our mission?

Whatever it is, big or small, it all adds up as we seek to love and serve our community. Speak to us today about areas where you can serve, or share your ideas for new ministry opportunities with us.
